Tecres for sustainability: clean water, zero liquid discharge

Environmental sustainability plays an increasingly crucial role in our strategic choices at Tecres. After all, one of our five core values—respect—is intrinsically connected to caring for nature and its resources.

That’s why we have introduced a zero-liquid-discharge purifier in our Metal Finishing department. This purifier has revolutionised our daily activities, allowing us to combine quality, development, and sustainability while reducing pollution and preserving the surrounding environment's natural resources.

The zero-liquid-discharge water purifier is an innovative wastewater treatment system that allows the purified water to be reused in a closed-loop cycle in the manufacturing process. In particular, it removes heavy metals and other contaminants through physical, chemical, and biological processes. This way, the water is clean, purified, and suitable for diluting the elements for electropolishing metals, thus improving the system’s performance.

This purifier has allowed us to reduce wastewater and waste volumes and our impact on the environment. Since we introduced it in early 2023, we have saved approximately 2,500,000 litres of water, which is the amount needed to fill an Olympic-size swimming pool.

Our zero-liquid-discharge water purifier proves that combining growth and environmental responsibility is possible. And we’ve been pursuing this goal here at Tecres with determination and strategic investments. This brings us a step closer to a more sustainable future for the company, our clients, and the entire supply chain.
